The Book of Nightmares

Widely regarded as Kinnell's masterpiece, this ten-part visionary poem sequence was first published in 1971. Kinnell won the Pulitzer Prize and shared the American Book Award for his Selected Poems; he was also a MacArthur Fellow and Erich Maria Remarque Professor of Creative Writing at NYU.
